Gas prices have been rising dramatically. Perhaps you are driving less. Here are some things we recommend:
Avoid future problems, keep your car clean:
1. Make sure your mats are dry if you are going to leave your car parked for an extended period of time. Having a lot of moisture in your car can lead to mold if left unchecked.
2. Open the windows whenever possible. Numerous studies have shown that fresh air and sunlight are good for your health and have a positive impact on the places you spend time in. Opening the windows in your car will help avoid smells.
3. Avoid trash build-up in your car. Leaving an unfinished drink or spilled food in the car will smell after a few days. Also keep an eye out for things that can melt and stain the seats or mats. We sometimes find chocolate wrappers and gum that gets deeply embedded into the fabric. Occasionally, the damage is irreversible.
4. Watch where you park. Avoid trees if possible. Tree sap is very difficult to remove from the clear coat. Bird poop is very acidic and can eat your clear coat.
Other tips:
Keep your tires properly inflated. It’ll help you get good gas mileage. Personally, we go to Stewart’s gas stations and use their free air pumps.
Keep reusable bags in the car. Combining trips and being ready to do a grocery run while you are already out will help you avoid unnecessary trips.
Use a sun shade to protect the dashboard from harmful UV rays.
